Description

‘Moonrise’ is a striking contemporary painting of a hare in full flight beneath a deepening dusk sky, where violet, hot pink and teal merge with subtle autumnal tones to capture the energy and atmosphere of the changing seasons.

At the centre of the painting is a bold, highly metallic gold moon. Its reflective surface catches and shifts with the light as you move around the room, changing from rich, warm gold to a luminous metallic glow. Set against the atmospheric depth of the evening sky, it creates a strong and luxurious focal point.

The hare is captured mid-leap, its movement bringing energy and freedom to the composition. 'Moonrise' was painted by Sian Storey in the early days of autumn 2026. As the one-and-only owner of this original artwork, you’ll discover details that photographs simply can’t capture. Delicate, considered brushwork sits alongside soft, hazy layers of spray paint, creating rich painterly textures and subtle shifts of colour that invite you to pause and look closer.

Sian works intuitively in layers, gradually building the hare, landscape and atmospheric dusk sky. Acrylic paint creates the form and finer details, while spray paint is used to soften edges and create the hazy, diffused quality of the evening sky.

The autumnal influence comes through in the warmth and depth of the colours, reflecting the gradual shift from lighter summer days towards the richer, darker tones of autumn.

The metallic gold moon is layered and finished to create a highly reflective surface, giving it a particularly luxurious quality. Good news. With Sian Storey, delivery is completely free (please note - if you're ordering from outside of the UK, your order may be subject to local import charges upon delivery)

The painting will be delivered fully tracked via courier, and securely packaged in layers of thick bubble wrap, foam edges and heavy duty cardboard.

The painting will be dispatched within 14 days, however Sian will always aim to send it sooner. Please add a note to your order if you require the painting sooner and she'll try her best.
