Sian is continually inspired by the delicate, colourful beauty of hummingbirds, and their symbolism of freedom and hope. On this painting, she’s depicted a single hovering hummingbird.
Sian was inspired by the crisp, clear skies experienced during the spring of 2020, and the title ‘Ether’ alludes to that.

How it was created
‘Ether' was painted in spring 2020 in Sian Storey’s studio and garden in Hampshire, England.
As the proud owner of this original work of art, you’ll be able to appreciate the delicate, detailed brushwork and hazy mists of spray paint. Look closely, and you'll see painterly textures and brushstrokes - the true mark of a one-off work of art.
Sian paints in layers, building up layers of paint as she goes. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating an ethereal finish.
