Description

'Valour' is a vibrant contemporary lion painting exploring the strength, courage and presence of one of nature's most iconic creatures. The lion stands proud and watchful, embodying both power and composure.

The title 'Valour' reflects the spirit of the painting. Valour represents courage in the face of challenge, inner strength and the determination to stand with confidence. The lion becomes a powerful symbol of these qualities both strong and protective, but also dignified, intuitive and deeply connected to its surroundings.

The colour palette is intentionally warm, rich and energetic. Naples yellow and Indian yellow bring a beautiful golden warmth to the painting, evoking sunlight and the glow of a hot summer. Rich browns ground the lion, creating depth and adding a sense of earthiness and strength, while vivid orange introduces fire, vitality and movement.

'Valour' was painted by Sian in her Hampshire studio, during late summer 2026.

As the sole owner of this original artwork, you'll notice layers and textures that photographs can't fully capture. Fine brushwork sits alongside softly diffused spray paint, creating depth, movement, and an atmospheric quality that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Delivery information

Good news. With Sian Storey, delivery is completely free (please note - if you're ordering from outside of the UK, your order may be subject to local import charges upon delivery)

The painting will be delivered fully tracked via courier, and securely packaged in layers of thick bubble wrap, foam edges and heavy duty cardboard.

The painting will be dispatched within 14 days, however Sian will always aim to send it sooner. Please add a note to your order if you require the painting sooner and she'll try her best.

And this will be reassuring to know - if the painting isn't quite right for your space, Sian will arrange a courier return free of charge, so you’re not out of pocket.
