‘Summer Skies’ celebrates the beauty and spirit of the hummingbird, a constant theme in Sian’s artwork.

This delicate hummingbird is full of energy, the vitality of its movement is captured by Sian’s signature colours, spray mists and detailed brushstrokes. Look closely and you’ll discover glimmers of gold that catch the light to wonderful effect. The striking white background brings this bird to life and would complement a range of interiors.

How it was created

‘Summer Skies’ was painted in Sian Storey’s studio in leafy Hampshire. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork and beautiful mists of spray paint.

Sian paints in layers, as seen in the rich acrylic paint of the feathers and wings. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating a hazy, ethereal finish.
