About the painting

This detailed painting celebrates the majestic nature of the kite, and is inspired by the movement of this magnificent bird of prey. The painting is full of texture and the detail of its delicate body is captured by Sian’s signature colours, spray mists and detailed brushstrokes.

Hand painted by Sian in her studio, it features flashes of teal blue, hot pink, turquoise and gold paint with a striking white background that frames the bird beautifully and the spray paint mists also catch the light and glisten to wonderful effect.

The title ‘Breathe’ encapsulates the freedom and tranquility of the kite in flight.

The painting is also a nod to the beauty of the changing seasons which is a reoccurring theme in Sian's work. In this painting there is the perfect mix of detailed brushstrokes and ethereal mists.
